I finally have all of the parts for my Monolithic Supercomputer from Space. This is my next computer system that Zar's Awesome Server will be running on. I also plan on running servers for other games such as Terraria on this as well as using it as my main gaming rig. The specs will be posted as soon as I look up some of the nitty gritty details on my packing slips. My main server will be down during the update as some parts need to be moved over to the new machine. As a side note, a google search for the Monolithic Supercomputer from Space nets PMC as result #1.

server really back up on old machine after slight IP issue. Currently running Bukkit 953, which is 1.7.2 compliant. Still working in new computer, will probably be after the holiday that it is finished.

I am toying with the idea of running another server at the same time as Zar's awesome server. This server would be Zar's Survival Server (not the one already listed by me but that listing would be updated to reflect it). This server would run on the old machine and would run the vanilla version of the game, with no op powers for anyone. I would probably periodically regenerate the world, at the request of the users, and those that are already whitelisted on my Awesome Server would be whitelisted on the survival server as well. There would also be an application process for the survival server, though it would be much less strict and would work in such a way that Awesome server people are also whitelisted on survival, but not the other way around. I might run some basic bukkit plugins to limit the world size and make smoother running, but that is it. If the world was voted to be regenerated, I would export all of the players to the new server (removing all high end items like diamond armor and similar stuff, with a list posted of acceptable items) after giving them a short period of time (maybe 3 days) to fill their inventory with what they wanted to bring. The world will use a definite seed, which has already been decided thanks to a contribution of the survival world that my server member and Gazamo mod Hibbsi has periodically hosted. Please let me know what you think of me running a survival server.

The computer is currently being stubborn in getting Windows 7 installed, which is why the old system (whose part is now finished) is back up and the world is hosted again. I take this moment to point out my gripe with Hard Drive manufacturers going with a metric system view of data storage volumes, instead of the binary view that everything else uses, meaning that my "2TB" hard drives are actually only 1.8TB each. Lame. Anyway, specs to follow when the system is up and running, and for those on the whitelist for Zar's Awesome Server, the server is back up on the old system for now because I am not sure I will be able to get the new one up before leaving for the weekend. Enjoy.
