Hey PMC!! I'm in sixth grade this year, and things have gotten quite awkward for me. (By the way, this is my first crush, so I don't know much about this stuff.) I talk to my crush a lot, but my friends always keep telling/showing her things just to weird one or both of us out. I.E., They keep trying to tell her i like her, or today, they showed her every single one of my texts with my best friend ever since I got a phone, and that was how my best friend even knew I had a crush on her to begin with. Obviously I'm going to be the one to tell her my feelings, because of course, that's how it works (I think..), and every time they've tried to tell her I have a crush on her she'd turn to me, smile and blush, and then tell them "Why would he like me?". No matter how much I tell my friends to stop, they just won't. On top of that, one of those friends ALSO has a crush on her. He won't stop randomly showing off now that he knows I like her. They have just made this a very long and awkward week, and want some suggestions for next week so that I can deal with the problem. Thanks!!

As I've dealt with this issue, but the genders switched, it's usually best to avoid this kind of stuff in 6th grade. It gets messy after your first year, and may not even last for as long as you wish it would be. Of course, I am not telling you not to give them a hint; it may be worth it in the long run. Feelings change over time as Middle School progresses, and it could be better off just to wait, even if it means your other friend takes your lover away from your undying love for her. It won't last to your Senior year, but I may be wrong, and this is early on in the stages of a dating life. It isn't serious at first, meaning it usually ends with unneeded drama and events that don't need to happen at your grade level currently. It may hurt for a little while letting it go, but hey, there's other fish in the sea waiting for you later on.
About your friends, personally, as I view it, they're just 10-year-olds trying to be hilarious. You'll see a lot more of it as you move up in grade level. I would keep them around, but maybe not as close as usual if you want to take a shot with this girl. You'll come to terms with why your friends are acting this way afterward, whatever happens, so it's best to keep them around. Now, due to your other friend liking your crush, I wouldn't worry about it honestly. Unless that girl is flattered to be around you, she isn't worth it if she goes to him first. Everyone wants a taste of dating in 6th grade, but it's honestly better to wait it out.
That's also not how crushes work; we keep them in until they travel back to the person you end up crush-ing for. Some fun stuff

Yes, I'd probably just tell her as well. The worst she can really do is tell you "no" or that she isn't interested. However, most relationships before college, and many in college, don't last. It's extremely rare for someone to meet another person in sixth grade and actually stay with them into adulthood. So, she's probably not the one for you. However, it could still be fun in the moment, and who knows, maybe you two would be that rare couple that stays together. Also, as Labyrinth said, the blushing probably means she likes you. I mean, if she didn't like you as well, she'd probably have sort of an "Oh, well... that's nice" awkward look. The only other reason for the blushing could be because she may be embarrassed, but I don't think that's the case. If she said "Why would he like me," I'm sure it means she likes you. Usually, girls who act like that want to know what you like about them. I once had a girlfriend like that.
Anyway, I would just go for it if you really like her. Also, have you noticed her glancing at you or hinting in any way that she likes you too? If she's done more than "Why would he like me," then I'm sure it's a mutual thing.
Now then, about your friends, I'm not the best at this sort of advice. I'm a person who takes drastic measures rather than looking for another solution. If it was me, I would threaten to unfriend them if they didn't stop. If they leave, then success, you know they weren't really your friends. If they stay and actually respect your request, then success again. Then you know they are actually loyal. But yeah, you probably shouldn't follow my friend advice if you are afraid of losing friends, because it's always a possibility.
(Yes, I know I posted this late, but whatever.)

None of that's ever happened to me before.. I'm the one girl who keeps everything inside, so not many know me truly. Buut.. as a girl, I gotta say, the blushing and smiling thing when they tell her you like her tell me she probably doesn't mind it, and may even like you back. If I were you, I would just tell her flat out. It may not end the other kids' teasing, but it wouldn't matter anymore because she would know for sure. If she doesn't like you back, that's fine. You'll be rejected lots, sad to say. And if she likes you back, good for you!
It may not be advice, but that's what I gotta say about that. Good luck!
