I need help winning a competition...

Hi, I'm a small time music producer,(link to SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/awesometunesrighthere (it is pretty early stuff, so don't expect much)) and Novation, a big company in the music hardware industry, has started a competition where you can win a Novation Bass Station II, a 6i6 audio interface, studio monitor speakers, and a Novation Circuit. (If you don't know what they are, just google them) All you have to do is enter your name and email address and you're in the draw. Easy. All they use that information for is for a newsletter, (and you can cancel it easily). But I can get 3 more points every time someone signs up using the below link. The problem is that no one but OP is claiming to be a music producer. You don't have to partake in the same activity to ask questions about the legitimacy of this whole thing.

Why not? Do you really need a compelling reason to just help someone out? Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they don't deserve a chance to win.

Okay, why shouldn't I help the others who are most likely in this contest as well? I haven't heard this guy's work, how should I know it's worth being invested in? What makes the other contestants less deserving? What if their work is better? Should they still lose out because this guy asked nicely?

While you may state that you're "helping the needy", you're actually giving him baseless praise! Think about it: It's a competition. It's not a charity service. How do we know if he deserves it? What if someone else could put it to better use? I demand evidence, OP!

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but I know for sure that op is, and I don't want to support that. If among the competitors there is just one honest person who doesn't beg for votes on random forums, I don't want to ruin their chances even further. Of course, op is not a bad guy, he's just following the incentive, but I don't think we should help him.

You can only win a competition by making someone else not win it. I would only vote for you if I though that you are better than other contestants, but I've never heard about you or them before today, so why on Earth should I?

I need this equipment. When the only thing you have to produce music is the lite version of a DAW, and a Launchpad, any of this equipment would make a difference. Studio speakers, would help me hear my sound better, when I only have a gaming headset to work with. An audio interface would let me plugin more instruments, microphones, and more. An analogue synth (bass station 2) would help me get a sound missing from most modern techno tracks (the genre I mostly produce). A Novation Circuit, would be amazing. It's a synth, step sequencer, and effects rack in one. Any one of that selection, would help me produce amazing music, but all four, would help me so much. And that's why I think you should vote for me.
Don't you think other contestants also need the equipment? Don't you think the equipment might help them produce music, too?
Dude, don't you see? It's a zero sum game. The only way op gets the equipment is if some other guy gets fewer points and wins nothing. Every vote for op is a vote against some other poor guy who also wants to win.
