ODYSSEY: Chapter 1. {Forum RP}
Before we actually begin, I’d like to say a few things. This RP, is/was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Peter Hyams’ 2010: The Year We Make Contact. And, as such, will have similarities, now enough with this opening. Let’s get to information!
Plot
The year is 2143. A strange object was found on Mars. Not many details were released. The only people, who received this information, were those who discovered the object, and high-ranking Government officials. But, this is just a rumor, right? Yeah. Some conspiracy theorists spreading their theories about like morons.
Fast forward a few years, and you find out that a mission to Jupiter is going to be launched, and they are looking for volunteers. You, for whatever reason, find this intriguing, and want to volunteer. You send for an application. You receive a stack of papers after a few weeks, and they detail some of the mission, and what you will train for, if you are accepted. After reading through the stack of papers, you gather the following information.
You will be launched into space, aboard the Curiosity. You will be awake and aware for the first week, so you can get a grip on how life in space is like. Afterwards, you will be put in hyper sleep for the next eighteen months. When you awake, you will be orbiting Jupiter, or one of its many moons. The details aren’t very clear on that part. You will not have any weapons, as this is a scientific mission. But, you will have space suits, if you must leave the ship.
You will train in a facility reminiscent to the Curiosity where you will learn how to live aboard the spaceship, and more importantly, how to operate the equipment there. You will even meet the Curiosity’s special onboard guest... a HAL-9000, which has never made an error. Mind you, it isn’t the first HAL-9000. And, has been nicknamed: “Vigil”, but some of the “boys” call “him” “Monolith”. “He” will respond to HAL, Vigil, or Monolith, however. And, if you’re wondering why it’s a “he”, it is because “his” voice is reminiscent to a male adult’s.
You must be eighteen or older to participate in this mission, as it poses potential danger to those younger folk. After reading through all the information, you come across the application. You sigh, and take a deep breath. You then begin to fill it out, anxious and eager, to be accepted. If you are accepted, you will spend a week or two, at the facility to train for life in space. After said week, you will be launched into space, where you will be awake for another week.

If you haven't noticed, no one really appreciates you on this website.
:O Really? Really? At least give me a reason! I know the ASIMO thing was wrong, I can fix that. Geez.

Place of Birth: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Education: Masters in Physics, and Theoretical Physics. As well as a Masters in Astro Physics. Studied at USAF Academy.
Skills: Well, that’s a hard one. I do have a masters in TP, and Physics, so I can make our route fast, and efficient. I am one of the smartest Physicists I know, as well.
Accomplishments: I’m sure you’ve heard of my very famous Theory about our Sun’s decay, and how it is decaying much faster then we anticipated. I’m also the scientist who created the schematics for the [EPUNGED] Bomb (See project files 87211-18829-ZHWS. No. 4. Index 7.)
Current Job: Scientist at Los Alamos labs.
Current Position: (In current job.) Leading Scientist on the [EXPUNGED] project.
Where did you hear about the Jupiter Mission? Many places. Co-workers were the leading source.
Why do you want to participate in the Jupiter Mission? It’d give me a chance to test the [EXPUNGED], as well as study Astro Physics on a whole new level. My colleagues told me I’d be a “great addition”, and I hope they’re correct. This’d also give me a chance to observe new theories, and gather more evidence. I also would like to go into space before I die.

Dear Doctor Inkar,
My husband and I wish to congratulate you on your recent successes. That aside, we have come to the conclusion that you would be a useful asset aboard the Jupiter Mission. The proper information has been sent to you already and should arrive shortly.
Additionally, a large quantity of the proper medications you require have been arranged to be on board, along with a new supplement that my husband and I believe will help deal with your memory loss. We'll have time to discuss it more later.
Signed,
Doctor Circe 'B'

Doctor Porter,
I apologize for the delayed response to your application. At the time I am writing this a group of Aramicite 'Liberators' are attempting to sabotage my latest project. It's rather bothersome to say the least.
Moving on though, after speaking to the right people and conferring with my wife, we have decided that you will make a rather useful addition to the team. I'll have one of my assistants send you the proper information.
Signed,
Doctor Fitcher 'B'
Thank for taking the time to look over and accept my application. If my proposal of bringing aboard the "medications", so to speak, was granted, then a package containing a pair of two small cargo bins shall be arriving shortly.

Dr. Jack Sparks, a man working for Aperture Sciences, has created something that will change the way mankind thinks... A revolutionary combination of various elements has given us what he likes to call 'redstone'... A fine powder that conducts electricity like a normal wire!... It can be hardened with water, and turned back into the powder with heat... The world may never be the same with this new advancement in technology.

Current position: Head of Reasearch in the electronics division of Aperture Sciences.
Where did you hear about the Jupiter mission? I was hired to help design and build the ship, thanks to my pure brilliance.
Why do you want to participate in the Jupiter Mission? So I can make sure none of the other idiots going mess up the ship. Anyways, it's a perfect opportunity to test other applications of my 'redstone'.
Family: No one alive, besides some odd aunts and uncles and cousins.
Appearence: Must I send in a photograph? I very much dislike cameras. I am caucasian, have short black hair, I wear glasses, and have red eyes. Not much else to say.
Hieght: 6"1'
Wieght: 200 lbs
Diseases: Well, some people have accused me of having skisophrenia, bipolarity, and a few other mental conditions, but I doubt it. After all, I'm a psychologist. I do have asthma though.
Allergies: I am allergic to animals with fur, pineapples, and idiots.
Is there anything else you wish to say? Yes. Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak!

Son, I am dissapoint. I came into this hoping for the REAL Oddessey. I shall still apply however.
Nron...How do you find those pics? I really like those couple pics of the futuristic stuff...
Most character pictures I use are commissioned works I payed for myself or had others draw based on characters I've made.
Failing that I've got plenty of image sites and a archive of images.
