I’m very bored so here are some random animal facts!
1. Squirrels cannot burp.
2. Most of the time, hamsters wink one eye at a time instead of blinking with both eyes.
3.Dolphins will sometimes use a hunting technique called fishwhacking. They fling a fish 20+ feet in the air using their tail flukes, wait for it to hit the water, and then easily catch their stunned prey.
4. Elephants drink enough water to fill 1-2 standard sized bathtubs every day.
5. Some male penguins “propose” to females by giving them pebbles.
6. Snow leopards are more closely related to tigers than leopards.
7. Certain types of whales are occasionally seen sleeping vertically. No one knows why. (Look up a picture, it’s wild!)
8. Baby giraffes fall around eight feet to the ground when they are born.
9. Ironically, cats are often lactose intolerant.
10. Yawns can mean a lot of different things, depending on your species. Some primates will yawn as a warning that they are angry. Dogs often yawn as a form of excitement or nervousness. And, obviously, humans yawn when we are bored or tired.
