Problems With Java

Okay, so, I've got a problem with Java and I have nowhere else to go but here and Google. Unfortunately, after hours of searching, Google turned out to be of no help. I have installed java on this computer twice (second time gave no indication that it was already installed). I installed it the second time because I was getting an error when I opened Minecraft. The error was, "The registry refers to a non-existent Java Runtime Environment installation or the installation is corrupted. The system cannot find the path specified."

So, I went to check out my programs and found that I had two versions of Java installed. I went to uninstall them and I received another error, something about a DLL file and to contact the software provider.

I am very bored at the moment because without Minecraft, there is very little else for me to do. In fact, I also pass time by making skins, and the program I use for making them also needs Java.

I don't know how to fix these problems. Can anyone help me?

I advise you try uninstalling again, and also google search for:

"The registry refers to a non-existent Java Runtime Environment installation or the installation is corrupted. The system cannot find the path specified."

If you still can't uninstall it then try re-installing java.

After you have reinstalled the newest version (java 6 not java 7)Check the guide in my sig for the 64-bit java installation (will work for 32-bit as well). This will set the default run path for java which may fix your issue.

Only if that doesn't work then consider installing java 7, and change the default run path to the jre7.
