Science Hub!(Official)
I think PMC needs a place for nerds to talk about science, So here it is!!
You can post anything from Minecraft Science to Real Life Science.
Also if you have done a science experiment post about it.
Support the Science Hub:

recently there have been craters spottted on mercury that look like cookie monster from seasme street

I don't know if anyone has posted it, but these are 2 AWESOME channels dedicated to science:

Did you guys know that mars has two moons? Their names are Phobos And Deimos and are probably asteroids captured by the gravity of mars. Phobos moves 18cm closer to mars every 100 years and in about 40 million years it will probably crash into mars. And here's a fun fact: Deimos is shaped like a potato!
1
o.O, I hadn't seen that. RIP.

The news has only recently broken, genuinely saddened, an inspiration to millions, a true hero.

Exactly, and a great reminder that mankind can do so much better than fight for money, lands or religions...

R.I.P Neil Armstrong, a true pioneer of our time.

Someone did that at a friends work and got fired. They had no clue what it did *facepalm
1
Fun fact! Mix bleach and ammonia and it creates a gas that makes you feel happy! Some people though fall asleep.

Really though, don't. No te gusta

Well guys, you may wanna know I do what I must, because I can!
But seriously, you guys interested in physics/rocket science (not kidding)
may wanna check out Kerbal Space Program.

if you lay down on your stomach at the beach looking at the sun rising / setting and you jump up as soon as the sun sets you can see part of the sun again.

Annyone tried getting a steaming jar of water, putting some cling film over it and putting ice on the cling film? its a lil thing that makes condensation

Flammable = Combustible
Combustible = Lemons
Combustible Lemons = Cave Johnson
Cave Johnson = Aperture Science
No matter what you say, it leads to Aperture in the end.

Godwin's Second Law?

Theoretical science is pointless because of creation. The end.

The Dyson Sphere is a mega-structure that, whilst not possible with current levels of technology and infeasible in the long run, would elevate our status from a type I civilisation to a type II civilisation on the Kardashev Scale.

Zombie are the most ridiculous things ever.
1
can i join?
1
And btw, wwith all this zombie/skeleton burning stuff, you actually can't explain that with science. Those are completly compeled by mithical sources, so you cant really explain it. In other words, "It's MAGIC!!!"

What would make a zombie more flammable than a human? They are composed of the same matter.
1
if im right... zombies are flamible...

But doesn't everything have a half-life?
1
Uranium is one of the more stable radioactive materials. It does have a half life of 704,000,000 years I believe. more a less.
1
I do believe I will fit in here perfectly....
1
If you put my sister in a black hole, the universe will collapse, due to the universe revolving around my sister (according to her..)
1
I admit I suck at science but, I do enjoy it. I just came back from a science excursion. It's fun how science can kill but be so fun.

Also fish don't only grow legs by being exposed to uranium, they become MUTATED!

GlaDoS has installed a cemetery for repated instances of Shrödinger's cat.
Schrödinger's Cat: A cat, a flask of poison and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor detects radioactivity, the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when we look in the box, we see the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead.

Animal Abuse! Anyways.... I like science. I want to be an astronomer or a suregon when I get a job.
1
that's... a less then perfect description of Schrödinger's cat
1
If you put a cat in a box, and fill the box with poison, the cat is neither dead nor alive until you open the box, because you don't know what happened to it. I learnt something like that, if anyone will bother to give me the full theory, good job.
1
Sounds fun! I'll try it!
But it's actually a Geiger counter measuring a small amount of radioactive substance, with an equal amount of decaying (or not). Should it decay,a hammer will fall releasing a poison. It has an equal chance of being dead or alive. After that it's all about quantum states or something, I'm not sure about the specifics.

Okay I was holding this reserve, but I also have 10 pounds of Uranium.
1
Omg lets put it in a fish tank and see if they grow legs
1
10 pounds of refined uranium would kill in seconds after taken out of containment. (I.e A thick lead lined container)
Don't play with radioactive substances kids.

1
I wouldn't do that, it also contaminates the water so if you try to pull up those fish-people you will be toxicated and die from the radiation!
1
Ahh no one wants to play with gaseous fluorine. I also got Thorium!
1
Whooo SCIENCE!
Lets do something scientific like play with gaseous fluorine.

I've done the corn starch thing. It's amazing.
1
I love science, did you guys know that there are only a few kinds of semi-solids. You can make one type by mixing water and corn starch, the faster you touch it the "more solid" it is. Glass is also a semi-solid. Old glass will have drip marks on it because the glass is starting to loose its form!
Seriously, try the corn starch thing!

Omg I want to join!

If you hang a rubber glove up in an enclosed chamber and evaporate super-glue it will condense and show you fingerprints on the inside of the gloves. All I got right now...
