What's YOUR age? (Finding PMCs average age)
The subject came up on chat about everyone's age and I figured its been a while since one of 'these' polls were made, so here it is. My guess on the average age is about 14 or 15. There are a few older members here but most are younger.
And for sake of Discussion: Being in your age group, what are the pros and cons to it?

Nobody seems to respect kids online who are lower than age 10. They don't accept them, they don't help them as often, etc. Most people think little kids are lucky, no work, when I see a little kid in my neighborhood, I feel bad for them, they have it hard online.

Im 13..
Pros:
Not to much to care about so I'm very relaxed about most things
School hasn't really ramped up the difficulty yet so I'm cruising along
Don't have to worry about being "Mature"
Cons:
No steady source of money
Im in a growing stage when hardly any clothes fit

I'm 15.
Pros: I don't have a job. Yet. So that still means I have some time to play.
This summer was free for me, but next year I'll be working at a shoe store.
Cons:
My life is changing fast. I'll be learning to drive soon, have a job next year, and before I know it I'll be in college. I also go to a really tough high school that only the smartest kids survive in. I can't believe I made it past the first year, nervous about the second.

I am 13. But I am probably about the most mature Minecrafter at this age. Example: I watched Sky at age 11: Punched a hole in the family computer. That sums up maturity huh?
Anyway I am mature enough to own a YouTube channel. I started on computers at age 5: Club Penguin... anyone? Then quit at 10 for MC. I don't judge on age especially since I shouldn't be the one to talk ;p

Punching a hole in the computer does not make your mature...if anything it makes you immature...

13.
Pros: Parents start believing that you aren't a defenceless little weed anymore and let you walk around town, staying up later, get a job so you can finally get rid if that old desktop your dad had.
Cons: more responsibilities, school gets harder (aus wa 8th grade, skipped 7 cos I was tad but meh).

Age: 12
Pros:
-Being in middle school, and doing activities like choir and stuff.
-Having tons of time in the summer for doing whatever I want.
-Not having adult responsibilities.
Cons:
-Not having an effecient way to earn money.
-Having tons of homework and stuff
-Teachers expect us to "grow up" and to and give up childish things. I know, I need to let go of a few things, but, I mean, I'm only 12. I have the rest of my life to grow up.

Age: 18
Pros: I do what I want when I want.
Cons: New to the real world. Bills suck. Payments suck. It just sucks. Do not become an adult.

I don't really see the point in saying how mature you are. Most of the time, you're probably wrong, or blind to the fact that you're not really as mature as you think you are.
Also, I would have thought more people would be 13 or under, even though there are so many already. While there are a good handful of older members, it seems like the majority of PMC is overrun with younger people; even 9 year olds and under.
That said, let's get on to the pros and cons.
I'm 13.
Pros:
- Being in middle school, I don't have to put much effort into schoolwork yet (I do get about 2 hours of homework a night though...), and I still manage to get all high A's in advanced classes.
- I don't have to worry about adult things.like paying bills, having to get a job, etc.
- I get to use the internet for hours at a time during summer.
- I play trumpet, and band is a blast. Also I play football for my school...
Cons:
- I don't have many good ways to make money, so I can do things like buy computer parts to upgrade my PC, or purchase games on Steam.
- While I like certain aspects of school, it's still not fun having to do loads of homework a night.
That's about it for me.

Yeah, I agree with that. You always think that you're really mature, even at ages such as 6, you think that you can handle everything, when in actual fact, you can't.

I'm 12, I have to do a lot of chores and usually stay home by myself for about 4 hours at a time at most. Most people think I'm 15 or 16 because I don't act immaturely. I've been playing MC since I was 10.

im rly 5 giese
Actually I'm 13.

17 almost 18
It's tough with my "friends" who consist of football players in college so I get dogged on for playing mc and being on this site XD

Jex_InfiniteCorrect me if I'm wrong, but this was a thread for seeing the average age of PMC users, not how to deal with stress or telling your life story.
And its for saying what the pros and cons are with being in that age range.

Im 16, almost 17 now, and lets just say life is HARD. Luckily, Im 'gifted', so my GCSE's were more or less easy. Im also doing Karate at the moment, and I am on my fifth belt. Karate has taught me a lot about respect and disipline, and how to react in different situations.
At high school, I was a prefect, so I knew how to handle people, but being a prefect meant I got a lot of hate (I feel sorry for mods). My brother has special needs (selective mutism), so I always have to look after him. This means we have a very strong relationship, even though it limits my social capabilities. But for me, looking after family is more important. Now Im in college, I don't see my old friends as much, though I have met many new ones.
What do I say?
Take what life gives you and savour it, as you almost never get a second chance.

16 hell yeah!
1
I'm 35. Oldest Minecrafter I've met was late 50s.
1
I think the age doesn´t matter. It´s only important to have some experience. For example if someone makes mods, it´s not important to reach a certain age. I´m 15
1
ArachnakidNo matter how rough grown-up life can be, being a kid was infinitely worse.
Wooaah what.
1
being sixteen is the best, better than being 15
1
I'm pretty young, and I will consider myself immature. Ya know, for the adults. No, literally, I'm pretty immature. I don't get in trouble a lot, but, laugh at things like, you know, funny things like farts.
Although this may not end well. Imagine if everyone found out age groups. Age groups assort into factions. Factions start into war. Then we all end up blowing up Earth and killing us all.

19 is officially the best age

I am 10 A Pro to being 10 is all there is in life are school and sports. You have a lot of free time to work on projects here on PMC and contribute to discussions. A Con is that people underestimate you. They expect you to be not be mature or have the ability to organize things. Usually kids cant even be trusted on servers without lots of supervision. But here I am a mod of a awesome server using vocabulary like catastrophic and legality in everyday sentences.
1
12 is the bomb.com. Hardly any responsibilities, easy schoolwork, and so much more. Only problem is I can't really afford expensive equipment for gaming D:
1
14 is great becuase you don't have any real responsibilities, your parents/guardians should trust you a decent amount (meaning more freedom) and you are able to manage projects like mods, servers, ect.
Plus also if you acually looked and tried you could probly get a job with a family friend or a family member (I have one) and earn money so you can get better computer and manage a bigger server.

Interesting concept, might end badly though.

I am currently 11 years old, turning 12 next year.
Pros
I have nothing I have to worry about right now, atleast until I get to middle school.
I have no responsibilities besides my doge, and my pc
Cons:
People underestimate us for idiots
Age discrimination
Around this point we get bullied
Puberty
Over all, being 11 is good, and bad at the same time. I have met people who have thought I was around 18 years old.

im 13,i guess im right about the age to where i can be counted "old enough" to be a staff member, i mean, its pretty good, basically since most people you meet are younger, and you can, well, outsmart them
1
I haven't participated in the forums much, but I looked at this thread because I was curious - I'm 31, and it often feels odd building/chatting with people who are usually 10-20 years younger than me. I've only recently started playing Minecraft on PC after playing it on Xbox, and there it's quite different - you play with friends and their friends, although a couple of them are in their mid-to-late teens...I actually joined this website because one of them has his projects here (Drogo01, builder of Lab Escape, check it out it's mental - but beware of rage). I want to find some people more my age/maturity level (a bit lower than 30 ) to play with so I don't feel so out of place most of the time :/
1
I personally think that people shouldn't have to reveal their age on PMC since your age depends on the way you act to other people. Most people who know my real age say I act alot older than I really am and that is because I act mature and I am very smart (in general).
1
I'm 22, theoretically in one of the "older" age groups on PMC--but in real life I still get treated like I'm too young to accomplish much or be taken seriously. However, I'm still expected to get a job and be an "adult" even though I'm really not being treated like one. Even though I don't slack off or cop an attitude like a lot of other people my age, I tend to get grouped in with them anyway. It's really frustrating.
The pros though? Freedom. Complete and utter freedom to go where I want, do what I want, and be the kind of person I want to be. No matter how rough grown-up life can be, being a kid was infinitely worse. For those of you that haven't gotten there yet, especially in middle school and high school--most of the sucky parts of your life right now will go away when you graduate.

Skullduggerycainpiratecrafti'm 11 turning 13 next friday.
Read some of your previous posts, here's what I've gathered.
-You're My age
-Less mature than me
-Low regard for grammar or spelling
-Redneck
-Bad at math
-Pathological liar.
Just....try to at least make your lies believable.
Omg anyone who uses the word redneck automatically gets 500000 respect points from me
1
I fall under the 10-12 category.
Pros: I'm too lazy to think of any, sorry :3.
Cons: Like some other people have said already, people sometimes assume that it's just 'another immature kid.' I have more to say on that but I'll just leave it.
