What's YOUR age? (Finding PMCs average age)
The subject came up on chat about everyone's age and I figured its been a while since one of 'these' polls were made, so here it is. My guess on the average age is about 14 or 15. There are a few older members here but most are younger.
And for sake of Discussion: Being in your age group, what are the pros and cons to it?

So 13 is totally winning at the moment. Dayum.
Being 15 is great. You're mature enough (hopefully) to organise things etc, such as a large server project I'm working on, but at the same time you have virtually no responsibilities, apart from the exams, which you will fail unless you revise a lot.
Either way, I don't judge people by age but by their personality and maturity. I once met an 11 year old, who I guessed was about 16, so age really isn't that much of a factor.
Oh and I forgot to mention cake. I'm allowed to bake my own cakes etc; it's great.

I vote to sticky this and actually get a semi-accurate average of our user-base's age. It'd be very interesting to see, I think.
For the sake of discussion, it's nice being an older member of the site (18-19). I enjoy meeting people around my age and being able to share a common interest in a game that does normally have a lot younger people playing.

You can always send me a message when you are bored.
I remember posting a thread like this a while back, and it got locked, because I had to "use the search function"?
*EDIT*: Managed to actually find the thread: how-old-are-you-t276291.html
Just a tad bit frustrating how it's not locked when a moderator posts it.

Judging from the kids I see posting and commenting I'm guessing the average age to be about 11. So many spammy posts of sub-par "mods" and "blogs"...

Would also cut back on these topics being created time and time again. I don't even know where the last one is.
For my age group its hard to find other members who share in my enthusiasm for some older shows and movies. Stargate is a 90s show, and though its not that old not many members haven't seen it.
IRL its odd too. Girls my age don't care about video games (normally). Just last week I went to a get2gether and, I kid you not, a Paid-2-play Halo player was there. I helped easily defeat him and the people on his team. So its a bit odd not finding other people out there like me, in my age group, to talk to.
Pros are almost none. Sadface
I'm in that 16-17 age group.
I think the pro of being 16-17 is you can finally get a license, but the con is your parents making you go out and get things, driving your sister/brother to places, etc.
Another con is people expecting you to know what you want to do for college. Yes, I might be taking the ACT this year, but it doesn't mean I know what college I want to go to.
That's all I can think of.

I'm 10 , most people dont accept me for builder or mod because I'm too young . But i barely have to do anything in life .... for now
That Is how I felt when when I your age , AND IT WAS AWSOME!!!
Agreed. I am 12, but if I tell anyone they freak out. I recently read a blog about how age ≠ maturity. I COMPLETELY agreed. At my age, you feel like other players and "PMCers" are older, but, in reality, they're usually the same age. So yeah. Woot for mature players! XD
agreed. but being around that age has its pros, too. like you can get away with stuff older kids wouldnt. XD
i voted option 8 age 20-23, why? cause the people i met are much older than me, but there is younger kids who plays Minecraft and meeting pmc.
i don't really judge their age.

I would think the poll was designed for people to vote for the age that they are, not the age they think is the average age of the community.
I enabled re-voting so you can fix your vote <3
Wondering this too. I think Char is the 30+ one for kicks.
JetraQuite a few people in the over 21 club, where are they hiding at?

I'm 17 I'm at the point where I'm supposed to know a lot but I can't be in any adult(ish) discussions because I don't know enough and I'm not an adult yet (which is supposedly 18) I don't understand it it's not like you magically get random knowledge once you turn 18 that you didn't have before at 17. Bleh I feel like I've been 21 since 15 but that's just my feeling XP I've been around stupid kids a lot
18 is the age your supposed to be "mature" at. It's a proven fact that the mind isn't fully developed until the age of 25.
I think no matter what age I am, I won't be happy with it
So close to being in the 24-29 group, oh god! Since I'm 23, I'll stick that one <.<' Quite a few people in the over 21 club, where are they hiding at?
"where are they hiding at?"
good question...
good question...
We're all hiding at work, because jobs.
I'm only 12 but I'll be 13 in about a month
High five for similar age and birthday time!

I've been cooking since I was old enough to see over the stove cx
It's great to be 13 because, at least in my case, I'm pretty mature for my age and am allowed to do more stuff than I was when I was younger, don't have a lot of responsibilities, and you're still young enough that you can do some of the fun "kid" stuff you eventually outgrow.
Cons are that people sometimes treat you as if they are somehow better than you because they're older, especially online.
Id think of it to be quite young considering half the forum is just a bunch of people trying to get free work

im 10 and loves minecraft and pmc
I'm a bit younger than most think, don't really care to publicly share my age, though. I can't really say there's many pros or cons to being my age besides it's about the time that stress starts to develop.
ETminecraft stress starts to develop.
Welcome to 18 my friend.
im onny twee, Just kidding, I'm more of in the age group of 10-12, Although people on servers mistake me for 14 or 15..

I find the results of this poll fairly surprising. I didn't expect to have so many older teenagers here on PMC; most of what I've seen seems to be younger. Though, granted, this poll is only measuring the average age of the type of people who would bother taking this poll: it hardly reflects the age of the average PMC member.
Anyway, I'm 14 years old. Pros and cons to this? Well, lots of people around my age play Minecraft, though most only the Pocket Edition. Though, even as a girl, it isn't hard to find someone my age (and preferably gender) that also plays Minecraft on PC. What IS hard to find is the kind of people who play Minecraft and would also use a website like PMC (let alone create content).
As for non-PMC related pros and cons, most adults regard me as a child, but I also find that I am not judged nearly as harshly for my actions as older people are.
It's also extremely hard to find someone my age who enjoys Batman comics.
Ugh.

Just turned 16 yesterday.
Happy belated birthday.
I'm in that 18-19 group. I don't have much to say about the pros or cons of the age. It just feels odd being hooked on a website where the majority are actually younger than I am.
