I am using the new launcher and trying to load 1.12.2, without mods or custom settings. However, it doesn't even open the game. It just opens the launcher again and says it crashed. I just reinstalled the game, completely fresh, but it still won't load. I am using the 64-bit operating system Ubuntu 19.10. 1.13, 1.13.2, 1.14.3, 1.14.4, and 1.15.1 all load, but 1.12.2, 1.12.1, 1.12, 1.11.2, 1.10.2, which are more that I've tested, will not load.

is it only 1.12.2 that crashes? also what version of java do you have installed?
Every release older than 1.13 is crashing, actually. And, Java 8.
the only thing i can think of is a driver issue, i would say your best bet would to contact mojang about it and see what they can do
