When using 1.13 (or any of its pre-releases) upon pressing play the game would immediately crash saying that Java has quit unexpectedly. My friend and I found a few solutions including disabling custom resolution, reinstalling the game from scratch, and trying to update java. Strangely 1.12.2 and prior work with no issues even on a fresh install.

we already did try that but it didn't work
I'm having the same issue! I've tried everything from restarting my computer to reinstalling MC from scratch, making sure Java is up to date, and I've also dealt with the resolution. Earlier releases of MC work, it's just that 1.13 keeps crashing.
