I wanted to know how to get a free mc server that actually works. i really want to get a server, but i cant pay for it.

Some hosts offer free trials or small servers for free. The best thing to do is just to search around, use Google it is your friend.
Some companies give free hosting for like 5 slots somethings as an offer but i doubt you'll find any hosts that do it for free, when they have to pay to host the servers themselves. not much money in that.

Well, you actually don't have to pay for one unless you use someone else to host it. Host it from your own computer and you should be good.
Exactly, you can easily search up a tutorial on YouTube. There are plenty of instructions.
