Allocated Memory question

Hi guys -
I have a quick question. I am getting a brand new computer soon and am wanting to set up a server on it, but how much RAM should I allocate for a server with 30 slots, and lots of redstone running all of the time? If it's more than 12gb, then tell me how many slots I could have with 12gb RAM allocated and lots of continuous redstone. Thanks!
