I need some help with animated skins. I once used dokucraft and I saw that the default steve was replaced with a character (which was normal for rps) until it blinked!
It was animated and it would blink after a few moments continuously! How did it do that. Can anyone please tell me?

Maybe there was transparent layer underneath and it occasionally clips through
I'm an ancient in Minecraft and just came back, but as a skinner I can say pretty adamantly that that's not a thing. Either that or the HD skins already kicked in and it included blinking eyes, which I'm pretty sure it didn't.
Maybe visual effect? There's a lot of neat optical illusions in some of the skins here.
