Hey guys, as title states, I might start a "Battle Royale" competition.
(Battle Royale is a book/movie where students must fight each other to death.)
I've actually watched DaveChaos playing this with his friends,.

For people to lazy to watch, its basically where there are several teams on the same island, and you see who can survive the longest. You can decide on how many teams you have, and change the rules so it fits your game.
So, it's a starting idea,. I'll need you guys to help me though.
1. I need a server so the teams can actually get together to play.
(Preferably cracked, so that both premium&cracked can play together.)
2. We can do random maps, or custom if you wish.
3. If i get enough players, we might start a tourney, or just a small game if little people.
After I get a server offer, I'd be happy to get this going.
Ideas or opinions on the game?

I was thinking exactly this, after watching exactly that. Unfortunately I don't have the resources to set up a server, but I have a few suggestions on what could make it more Battle Royale-y
1. Have maps that are either islands, floating islands or bounded in some way (ie. by a bedrock wall) with different biomes to theme. This makes sure people don't leave the game arena without being too artificial.
2. Random spawning. From what I saw it looks like Dave and gang tried to implement this, but couldn't get it to work. This would be very helpful in setting up at the beginning, rather than just a random walk from the spawn.
3. Many of the things DaveChaos' groups used are ideal - health regen off, health stats available to all, damage broadcast to all. Are there more mods which could make the game more Batttle Royale? (This is somewhat open-ended)
And yeah, tourneys would be great for this. Seriously, this will be seriously popular as soon as someone sets it up; especially so if you film it as Dave's lot did (everyone's POV on their channel). I can imagine ppl casting it even. Oh man so exciting.
