I'm running a Minecraft Server. Most of the time I have 3-6 players on, and I am planning for more. I'm looking for hardware to transfer my server to. It has to be:
Cheap
Reliable
1-4GB of RAM.

Well some ISP allow game servers like google fiber, apand if your lucky enough to have it then you should be self hostingd

Prankster855You shouldn't even be doing it on your own computer. Computer wise, just get the best CPU and RAM, and some other things I can't think of. But that's pricey.
Best anyone can do is with a REAL server host.

I'm not hosting a server on my computer, I'm currently using a host. I'm wanting to transfer my server which is being hosted to a server I host myself.
I disagree if you have a good ISP you could host your own server.
All ISPs reserve the right to cancel home service if they find out it's being used for running a business. Never a safe idea, especially with the upload footprint you end up having.
As for running a server yourself, I'd stray away from doing so. Servers never come cheap, and the $30 a month cost for a decent hosting platform is never going to run you over the final cost of buying a server yourself.
Just remember that you aren't paying for any maintenance and electricity costs for the server you rent out; there's no way that can be cheaper than renting from a host.
