Blocks that don't leak

I think it's kind of dumb that almost every block will leak water or lava if placed above the block. What blocks and slabs won't leak? I heard that placing slabs at the top or bottom of a block will cause it not to leak but that seems to be false. I tried both and they still leak. Besides glass what doesn't leak? And are there any slabs that don't leak?

I know what you mean, but if you are willing to use a mod, then you could try Project Red, it has a saw in it for sawing up blocks into very thin slices. You can attach one of these to the bottom of your blocks. It's what I do when I have that problem, but this assumes you are willing to mod. I don't know of another way sorry.
Link to the mod - its in several parts :

According to my current knowledge, I believe there's no blocks that don't leak when placed below water or lava, but if you go into options>video settings> and change the particles setting to "minimal", that should get rid of the water particles you see.

You either change the particle setting to minimal or decreased, I'm fairly sure it's minimal but it could be decreased.
