Buycraft Chargeback 83
During August a user called Blaze671 joined our server and donated £271 for items from the shop. Including a rank, we informed him both personally and on the store not to abuse the rank by harming players or giving out items. He agreed to this.
Later he was found selling items for in-game cash and was warned twice, he then used splash damage to attack moderators and players. I warned him twice personally and on the third removed his rank. This was about 3 weeks ago, he quit once the rank was removed saying "this is boring".
Earlier today, I receive an email from paypal (9 of them). Claiming I have commited fraudulent activities and I am required to refund him, despite only spending £271 it's taken out a lot more money and in both GBP and USD.
I've no screenshots, buycraft has changed from "completed" to "error receiver" because he refunded, so I can't prove that he received the items. All I have is a 13gb log file. I then found out that it's an error code 83, which means he didn't have proper authorization to use the credit card to pay for the purchases.
I am just wondering if anyone is able to help me, I currently have a paypal balance of -£320 and I have turned off donations until this is resolved because I don't want other players money going into this and not the server.

From my own experiences every payment through buycraft came up as "Error Reciever", but i was still able to move the money from paypal to my debit card and spend it.
Also I don't know changed anything with paypal than you but I moved all my money from the paypal balance "[u]where you never leave money[/u]" to my bank account and had a player see if there was any option to "charge back or get refunded" which he could not.
Unlike the above I would just recommend locking all of your money down in your bank account or debit card and run.

This is your own fault. If you're an owner you should be able to support a server without the help of donations. If you can't then there is a problem. You also shouldn't spend ANY money from donations up to 6 months ( after the point when players can't charge back ) and if you do then you're taking a risk. Even if you had proof from buycraft it isn't "proof" to paypal due to it being a virtual good and paypal won't cover it. Don't even bother fighting it since you will get a $15 or $20 fee per transaction ( can't remember the exact amount ). You WILL have to pay that money back to paypal even though you don't think it's "fair" it's just the way things work.
You should set a max amount that a player can donate also shouldn't have ranks that cost more then say $80 due to players doing things like that.

Buycraft is so silly.
Ok so is this a paypal dispute of a buycraft dispute?
Because if its paypal, all you need to tell them is that the user donated rather than purchased a product or service. You will win the dispute everytime.
