Can't Go Anywhere In The Nether
As the title explains: I am having Nether problems. I can't go anywhere. My nether portal spawn was in mid-air on a tiny tiny platform. I don't know what to do because I've never had this type of issue before. I can't make a staircase down. I can't jump because its too high. I can't make fire resistance because I don't have magma cream. (And lava doesn't work like water. It doesn't save you when you jump into it...) Finally,to top all this madness off there is a ghast patroling my area! So even if I tried bridging I would die. You could also drop sand/gravel to make a tower and then mine down on top of that.
In case you dont have enderpearls you can always try to make a path out of cobblestone to the nearest visible solid ground. and to get rid of the ghast just use a bow and arrow, 1 hit will kill it. alternatively, make the bridge into a tunnel with walls and a ceiling. might take more material, but you are safe from anything that spawns in the nether as long as you light it up.

Actually a amazing suggestion! I'll go enderman hunting right after I do some stuff,and that gives me the idea to break my nether portal and move it down. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yup. For sure and mighty, use enderpearls. Right click, whatever block it hits you will be teleported ~1 block above it or directly beside it. It will cost you like 1 1/2 hearts, cause your probably drawing evil ender energies.
