Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of a problem. I just reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer because some stuff was messed up, and i'm not able to play minecraft multiplayer. I've downloaded Java 64 bit, etc. Another thing to point out is that this problem happens to me on every version of minecraft. Yesterday I used a friends pc to play minecraft and it worked perfectly. Any help would be great.
(Side Note: Yes, I did pay for minecraft. It is not cracked)
EDIT: I AM GIVING THE PERSON THAT SOLVES THIS A FREE MINECRAFT ACCOUNT!!!!!

this should be Locked u dont giveaway accounts for something that can be fixed by updating your Drivers
They can give away their stuff if they want to.
Also, disconnect your ip thing that has bars (Don't know what it's called) From your internet that your on now and connect to the one you want (Maybe the same one) This might help.
Change your minecraft password, without minecraft open! Then try. If it dose not work still I can help. Just tell me
Try redownloading Minecraft / Java, if that doesn’t work, try deleting all versions and redownloading them via launcher.
If THAT doesn’t work, use magic launcher.
Hope this helps!

You wanted a fix to your problem, and you got it.
If you have antivirus software, make an exception for Minecraft to access the internet. I haven't had a problem with Minecraft specifically, but other games such as Terraria and Garry's Mod have had a problem on my computer.
If it was working before try recovery to return to the point when it was working
Go to http://speedtest.net/ and post your internet speed. You may just be having internet troubles.
Make sure you have an internet connection. Skins usually wont appear unless you have a internet connection. Try disabling firewall. Might be blocking the minecraft from sending data in/out
The skin problem seems to be fixed. I now have skins in Single Player
Search 'Firewall' and go into 'Windows Firewall with Advanced Security'. On the left click 'Outbound Rules' and right click to create a new rule. Make the rule for a port, which is '25565' and do this twice, once for UDP and once for TCP. This should allow outgoing connections to servers with the default Minecraft port that may not be currently connecting because of your firewall
Tried and it doesn't work
One time I had this sort of problem where MC wouldn't open or work right... I had to delete Java, and reinstall it to the latest version. After a bit more tinkering, I was finally able to get my MC to work just fine. I'd say focus on the java- don't downgrade but just reinstall it after deleting it, and that *should hopefully* solve the problem. Let me know if it works :3
Re-downloading minecraft won't solve your problem, go into the minecraft folder itself and delete the contents (you will lose mods/textures). This will wipe minecraft completely. You will need to re-open minecraft to have the basic folders in your minecraft folder downloaded again. That should work out for you....
Didn't work..
Downgrade To Java 6 I Had Too http://www.oldapps.com/java.php?old_java=61
Are you also using a proxy? There might be problems if you are.
No I am not.
Put right date and clock time on your computer. If it is wrong minecraft cant specify your location. that might be why you want connect anywhere.
Also make sure minecraft.exe is allowed in your firewall.
-Best regards Andre

I think I just might have it. Excuse me as I type my answer.
Edit: Ok, so go to your Minecraft launcher. Where the "play" button usually is, does it have a button that says "play offline" instead? If yes or no, let the launcher load for about a minute or so. See if it works.

I already have a minecraft account.

Clear your cache in the Program x86 folder!
How would one do that?

I get everything except when I go to new rule I dont know where Java SE Binary is
When you click "New Rule...," make sure "Program" is selected, and click Next. Make sure "This program path" is selected, and paste one of the filepaths I mentioned. Click Next, and make sure "Allow the connection" is selected on the next page. Click Next again, and make sure all the boxes are checked on the next page. Give it a name and description, and click Finish. Do the same with the other filepath I mentioned, and do all this for both the Inbound and Outbound Rules lists.
This didn't work. Thankyou for your effort though

That's a weird bug that happens because of minecraft.net being down sometimes..... I don't really know how to help ya man. I'm not a computer whiz.
have you tried waiting for the "play offline" button to turn into a "play" button
i surmise this from
1. you cant connect to any servers
2. you have the default skin in single player
