Can't connect to minecraft.net
Hey guys, I haven't been able to connect to minecraft.net for about 2-3 weeks now. I checked Mojang's website and it said all their websites are online. But still, it keeps telling me it can't connect. I don't have any fire walls or anything like that. Please help,

Try to get modded Launcher try Spout just to check if you can connect thro it
By reinstalling, you deleted the .minecraft folder, right?
OK, I backed up all my worlds, and I reinstalled Minecraft 6 times, and I still can't connect.
Oh crap, I found out how to back up worlds. I have tons and tons and TONS of worlds. Oh God.
Well, I know it's not hacked, as I can play on servers and stuff if I play on the actual website, but Jaaakee224, I'm not really the computer Wizard, so I don't know where my desktop is. I think it's the home screen thing where all my applications go, but I'm not sure. Sorry if I sound like a retard.
Desktop = computer that's not a tablet or a laptop. They're un-portable, usually sit on a desk, and are fully customizable, unlike tablets or laptops.
Well what i can say 1st try to reinstall minecraft, 2nd check if your account isnt stolen, 3rd Check in parantal control actualy i saw few guys who got it blocked on parental control, 4th maybie u tryed to brute force someones account and got blocked, 5th Reset router i managed to block myself on router and i was surprised on that.
To my knowledge your Minecraft download would not affect your ability to log in--as the launcher and the actual Minecraft game are two different things. If I were a paranoid person I'd say your account may have been stolen, but you might be just misremembering your login details. Go here and click on 'Forgot Password'. Then input the email account you used to create your account. It will give you instructions on how to change your password, which will recover your account if it was stolen.

Just make a backup of your saves, if you have downloaded mods, texture packs, anything of the sort, you can also make a backup. Make a backup by either just putting your selected folder on your desktop, or you can make it a file and post it on mediafire, the easy way is to just put it on your desktop.
Agreed. ALWAYS have a backup of your world saves.

Your best bet would be to re-install Minecraft. If it doesn't work, then try contacting Mojang.
Will I lose anything from re-installing Minecraft?

Check that your username and password are correct.
That's the only thing I can guess would be wrong.
