Hi, I got a minecraft a few days ago. I try to connect to a server using direct connect, then I type the code that goes like xxx-xx-xxx:xxxxx but it still wont work. I use a Toshiba satellite and Windows 8. Can anyone solve this?

It says either the java connection timed out, or something else funky about java. It is not a whitelist problem.
Your saying you type the code, I think you mean the IP address, the issue may be that you have to wrong ip or there must be a connection error, does it say anything specific when you are trying to connect to the server like connect:exception or anything along those lines?
