Can't create virtual machine

Hello . i am trying to get minecraft to run off of at least 2 gb but whenever i set it to that in the options ( yes i am doing it right) it gives me the error. my system specs are:
windows 7
8 GB of ram
64 bit
and i have at least 6 gb of free ram always.
So what is my problem?

You have a 32-bit installation of Java. Install the 64-bit version.
