Long story short, I have made many servers and know what I am doing but I currently have a problem that I just can't figure out.
I have ran the server and created all the files and I have port forwarded the port that I want. When I run the server I can connect fine with local host but when I go to my other computer it does not show up when I put the ip in minecraft. I used a port checker and it said that my port was not open.
I know that I have port forwarded everything correctly so I don't know why the port is not working. If someone could help that would be great.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the late response but I did some more digging and it was a firewall issue that just needed to be corrected.

Hmm...I have had that problem before too, try use youriphere:yourporthere format?
Which IP are you using? There is the internal IP, and that one will work if you are connecting via the host computer, but not from another computer. Go to an IP checking sight, get the IP for your host computer from there, and connect using that IP with the other computer, as that one is the public IP (Had to do that when I hosted my own private server years ago, now I have a public server, so sorry if my advise was a bit vague; it's just been awhile).
