Can somebody please tell me how to make a simple server!!
Just as the title says, somebody please help me. I don't want to download anything, and I only want to use it as a server that me and my friends can play adventure maps on. Thanks in advance!

Yeah ok
Let me know how that works out for you.
I am assuming you have no money either so you probably won't be able to get a host.
There is no simple way to host a server. You need to either download Mojang's server or Craft Bukkit's version. Then if you want others to connect you need to port forward or use hamachi.
I made a simple server -snip- by purchasing it from mcprohosting and that's probably the fastest way to get one but you are welcome use it for free anytime with your friends I will give you fly and hats etc.it is usually just me and my sisters on ~ Madison aka angrylawnngnome
i'm pretty sure he is just doing a server for him and his friends to play adventure maps on.... and on my longish over complex post earlier i forgot that you could just do lan if all your friends and you are on the same wifi, but i can never get lan to work so... port forwarding for 2 people was easier for me....
There's no such thing as a "simple" server. Setting up and running a server *sucessfully* takes effort and patience, even if you pay someone to host it for you.

if you want to host a SMALL server ( less than 5 pepole unless its LAN and/or you have a monster computer), you need to download the server.jar from minecraft.net then run it in a folder, you can call it servers or whatever, then you need to edit the config file to your liking, and if you dont know what it does look it up or leave it alone. if you need to port forward it go to your router ip, and look in the advanced settings (you may have to read the instructions.).... since i don't know what router you have, i cant help you much more, unless you intend on tracking me down and having me do it for you, in which case i would have to look it up.
