Can someone tell me how to make a server?
In reference to the title, I have spent a LONG time trying to make a server but I just can't figure out how. I went on the wiki and all those sites but I just can't understand it. So what i need is a really "Dummed down" explanation for a person to make a server. Assume I know nothing and just help me out. Please respond!

Make sure you select 'All Files' in the Save As menu and then save it as start.bat.
Follow his steps after you've done the following:
First, grab the beta build of CraftBukkit from http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/ and save it into a new folder -- if you're on Windows Vista or 7, do not put it in Program Files or Program Files (x86). Rename the file from whatever it's called to craftbukkit (or 'craftbukkit.jar' should you have file extensions shown).
If you're wanting to port forward so people can access your server over the internet, please provide your router make and model and I can find a guide for you if you're not sure how to set-up port forwarding on your router.

Yeah I want to do a bukkit one, thanks.
First I must ask, are you looking for a completely vanilla server, or a CraftBukkit server (which allows you to use plugins that do things like /home and /tpa)?
