Yea, the IP you currently have, is your internal. Think of this as your body. Nobody can touch your internal parts (unless they slice you open i.e hacking), so nobody will be able to connect to your internal IP. Your external IP is your skin/outer body. Anybody can touch it. Go to the link Punny provided to find your skin, I mean external IP.
