I cannot add more than 1gb of RAM!

I cannot add more than 1gb of RAM to my server. Even though I just recieved 16gb today that is untouched. I went into my bois and saw that I had 24gb of RAM(I previously had 8gb). Help is really needed here! Thnx.

Have you increased the amount of ram in you starting script?
Also, are you sure you're running the 64 bit version of Java?
