Chunk problem in my world
I am in the middle of making a puzzle map, and when I was going back to the starting room, I noticed 2 of my rooms had lost all the blocks in them, basically there was an empty space where the walls were meant to be. Here are some images (I don't know if they will show):

I think I am going to have to rebuilt it, but is there any way of making sure this doesn't happen again? Because my map has quite a bit of redstone and I haven't memorised how it's done, so I can't easily redo it if it gets wiped again.
If you need to know the settings I am playing on, then just say. If this has happened to anyone else then feel free to share it.

OK, I will do. Thanks for all the help by the way
I vote just fix it for now, it'll probably not happen again.
SnowyfoxexcavatorpieI haven't used world edit or any world editing tools for this map, and the game is on peaceful, so it wouldn't be a creeper. Still, if you've seen the missing area, it's completely square shaped, and the areas missing are way too big for a creeper to do damage to.
I am using 1.7.8 or 1.7.9, but I started the map about 5 days ago, so I don't know whether a possible update to 1.7.9 caused this (although 1.7.9 hasn't really added much so I don't see why that could be the problem).
I will look through my command blocks, but what sort of things should I look out for. All I have used are the 'say' commands and the 'tp @p' commands, so I don't know what could have gone wrong there.
No, nothing would've gone wrong then; it's obviously a bug with the new versions. That's why they say, be careful when you screw with developmental builds! I don't know why people try to make strong redstone builds or big castles at the latest version; always go for a stable.
Try looking up on your search engine to see if others have reported on a problem similar to this; if not, wait and see if others here at PMC acknowledge it. If they do, to Mojang's Atlassian they go.
Yes, I will have to change my settings because at the moment it is set to switch to the latest version, but I will just keep the map at 1.7.8 for the time being. Would you recommend me fixing this problem, or do you think it's going to keep on happening? Therefore, if it is then I'll do the rest of the map and do a big fix at the end.

SnowyfoxexcavatorpieThose images are really big and I don't know why. Just right click the image and copy the URL, then paste it into another tab and search. It shows up a normal sized image there.
Usual thing with PMC; it doesn't scale images for you. For me, I use imgur for my image uploads, so I can use their URL suffixes to crop the picture down for places like PMC. I don't know how to do that with tinypic, though; maybe crop the picture beforehand.
Most browsers I know today also allow you to just "Open in a new Tab" or "Open in a new Window" when you open the context menu for something like that.excavatorpieSnowyfoxIf you're using command blocks, see if you are aiming them correctly?
What do you mean by that? I don't know how a command block is going to get rid of 1 chunk's worth of space, but if you could explain it more that would be helpful
Since command blocks can now edit the landscape in the new updates, check to see if you're using command blocks to manipulate blocks; a mishap in typing might've done something absurd.
If you're using a world editor like MCEdit or WorldEdit, be careful how you aim with that too.
Also, check for creepers?
*EDIT* What version of Minecraft are you using?
