I'm playing on the snapshots, I was on 15w44b when my computer shut down to update something. I logged on the next day to see that that world had disappeared. I searched %appdata% in my computer, went to .minecraft<saves and I saw my world was there, but I have no Idea how to bring it back. I've looked at videos on how to restore it, but when ever I click "restore previous versions" it says there are no previous versions. Please help, I've spent hours on this world.
Thank you so much! (:

Some one on another forum said to create a world with the same name as your previous world and to go to your home coordinates and everything would be there. I totally didn't think that would work, but it did. I just lost everything in my inventory and ender chests. I can't get that stuff back because cheats are off, but I'm glad my chests and builds are good. I tried all your methods and they just brought back the same thing, empty inventory and ender chests :/ but I can live with that. Deadrecon98, I have no idea how to provide or find the error codes, if you could tell me how I would show you.

Thank you so much for all your answers! Really, it means a lot! (:

Edit: I forgot that I can turn cheats on when I open it to LAN so I gave myself less than what I thought I had to keep form "cheating" So everything worked out!

The issue is probably that you are using a snapshot, if you could provide the error code then I might at least be able to tell you what caused the issue.

Yes, xin8 is right. I'm sorry that wasn't clear. Thank you so much for your answers, I will try to recover my world when I get home. I'll let you know what happens (:

If you didn't do much yet, don't do any disk operations and use recovery software, do not install to the drive that you have the lost files on unless if you need to.

I think he means that when he goes to minecraft and clicks single player, his world doesn't appear but when he goes into the actual save file with %appdata% he sees his world in there.

OP try moving the world save file somewhere else, copying it, and then pasting it back into the minecraft saves folder.

If thats the case try making another world then navigate to the appdata folder delete
the files from the new world and paste your old ones in. If that don't work, do the same thing but this time only copy and replace the following files.

level.dat
session.lock
Playerdata
region.

I don't completely know what you mean. You said the world was deleted but it is there in your appdata folder right? Is the world corrupted when you try to login?
