I cant help you much, but heres a good legit tip:

When seeking hardware/software solutions, PMC is NOT the best place.
It could be a bug in MC or a technical problem in your PC. Go to sites like

Seven Forums
Tom's Hardware

Well my friend has the same problem. Turns out his harddrive was messed up. I'd suggest making sure that no files are broken to determine that.

Bit of personal experience here:
If your on a laptop and it gets overheated there are 2 simple solutions to do
this is no1 which is .. fairly simple

And the second part will reduce the computers performance but keep the temerature down, what you have to do is go into power settings select the "Balanced" setting, click edit and click advanced options, scroll down to Processor power management and set the minimum state to 0% and the maximum (which should be 100%) to like 50.

If you've changed the amount of ram to over the limit of your computer, it can crash. Make sure you have over 1 gb, or 1 gb allocated, but keep 1gb spare to windows as well.

CPU overheating is not an issue, do you get a blue screen or does your computer just turn off?

When I say CPU model, I mean AMD or intel, you can tell what CPUmodel you have in speedfan, the area outlined in red is where I found mine.

I use speedfan to check my temperature. Look for the values that say CPU or core on them. Ignore the preset warnings as they are always set below the normal operating temperatures. here is the link: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
This is what mine looks like
