I'm an admin on a server and I sometimes need access to the console, but the owner runs it on his own computer. Is there a software or someway I could view and use the console from my machine, even though he runs it from his machine?

You can just ask him to install spacebukkit... the he can give u access to the console, as well as donators access to chat from ur website...
Thanks a lot for the replies, I'll have to look into all the suggestion.
You could get the owner to set up a control panel such as McMyAdmin, it's pretty good and multiple users can have accounts and the console can be accessed via the panel. But then again if you can get remote access to the server that may be quicker.
You could use TeamViewer, or just ask the owner to set up the RCON feature of his server (maybe the query one too). You can get the settings in server.properties. After that just download a RCON minecraft client and log in to the console.
