Converting a Multiplayer world to Singleplayer?

What I'm trying to do is download a world off of my server named "flat." (Because the world was all flat...) I used Filezilla to download it, and I put it in my "saves" folder in the ".minecraft" folder. I logged onto the server to find the coordinates of where the builds were in the map, and then went back to singleplayer. I used the "/tp" command to TP myself to the cooridinates, and voila, my builds aren't there...
What happend? Did the world get corrupted when I downloaded it? Or does Vanilla Minecraft not like worlds created with Multiverse?
I'm doing this in 1.7.2 FYI.

... I'm a failure. I just tried re-downloading the world, and instead of being 118.2 KB, this time it was 1.1 GB. I must have closed Filezilla without letting the world download all the way the first time.

It's all good, we all make mistakes. Glad it's working though!

Sounds like a weird issue, this is going to sound pretty stupid but make sure you're getting the right world save, I remember back when I used to use multiverse deleting certain worlds would just delete them from the configs and not the actual server directory, so I'd make sure there isn't just a flat2 or something in there for you.

Hmm... I haven't deleted any of the worlds I've had on the server so far, and I only have worlds called "world," "world_nether," "world_the_end," "flat," and "Free"

Umm... why did you have to download your server world? Shouldn't it be on your PC?

I use a hosting company for my server, which is why the files are there.

Vanilla will only work with the main world, so you'll have to find a different way of getting them out, maybe MCEdit.

How would I get it out with MCEdit? I thought MCEdit was only for Singleplayer worlds...

Is this a new thing? I did this in 1.4 I believe with a lot of my multiverse worlds.
