I am an old lady who has been playing MC for 3 years with my niece. I am not computer savvy, so I hope you can help me. 3 weeks ago, while playing, my screen went black and I could do nothing. I shut computer off and upon reloading MC, my world had reverted to about 2 years ago - tool inventory stayed current, but everything else did not + there are huge chunks that don't even load. I am unable to locate any saved worlds that aren't corrupted. I reinstalled both JAVA + MC and made sure there is 4 GB of RAM dedicated to MC. At first I received the long message from 7/27/19 as below, but now I receive this message and the game crashes within 1 minute:

Your game seems to be running out of memory. Are you sure that you allocated 4GB properly? Could you post the entire crash report here using paste.ubuntu.com so that we can double-check your RAM allocation?
Error message pasted
You need to post the link to the pasted report here so that we can read it. 😅
That doesn't seem to be the entire log, but as far as I can see, Minecraft is still running out of memory. Try following this RAM allocation tutorial and see if that helps.
Thanx, I already did that to allocate 40% to MC
I am also transferring files to another computer to give MC more space
But what about the 3 years worth of work that are now gone?
