Something extremely weird happened. After returning home from dinner, i woke my mac book air 13" with OSX 10.7.5. I haven't closed my server since noon, though i assume sleeping the mac would stop all processes. I also haven't close my minecraft client. My client and server is running MC 1.4.5 with NEI, Buildcraft, Industrialcraft, and my client is running Shibby's flymod. All the latest for 1.4.5.
Then, the weirdest thing happened. When i opened my computer, i played minecraft for a while. I put Iron Ores in my Macerator, then saw it was night time. So i went to sleep. I went to creative and spawned in some compressors, to see whether they could be retrieved with a diamond drill; they can't - the yturn into machine blocks. In about 50 seconds, it was night time again.
I thought it was weird. So i went back to sleep.
Then i saw the sun. I zoomed across the sky like a mad bull. (Well, compared to the usual speed anyway.)
I went to check on my quarry, it was mining SUPER FAST. I set the size to mine a huge area, i would guess about 1000m^2, but it went like 1 layer per minute.
I decide to record a video and post it on YouTube. Upload in progress.
I think restarting minecraft server would solve it, but i wanna make use of the crazy quarry mining speed.
Anyway, if any1 has an idea as to where this came from, please let me know!

i cant seem to recreate this effect though, maybe it's a rare glitch
the vid is up, but for some reason utube jacked up my audio, and u cant hear me talking. Basically, i was saying the stuff i typed up here.
The video is not sped up at all.
Reuploading with mixed audio track so that my talking can be heard

One theory i have is that while my computer was asleep the server stayed on. So when i woke the computer, the time change triggered the server's super fast mode as it tries to keep up and so it speeds up minecraft time to reach a point where the time has reached what it would be if the computer was not asleep.
And that would explain the reason why the quarry only moved super fast, because it's chunks were loaded automatically. But not the industrialcraft stuff which i interacted only after i went back from my dinner. I'll try to recreated this effect some time in the future. Maybe tomorrow?
Or any1 is free to try this.
Keep ur minecraftserver (with buildcraft quarry) on
Put ur computer to sleep with the server on for about 3 hours.
Return and wake ur computer. Log in ur minecraft, and see if the quarry/time moves like crazy.
I think these steps should recreate the effect. I'd try it now, but in my time zone, it's nearing eleven, and im about to go to sleep.

Thats probably what happened im assuming
the effects ended on its own after about 10 minutes
@dast yeah maybe so, but this glitch is pretty cool.
Only buildcraft stuff moved fast tho... it might have something to do with buildcraft.
I wasn't logged in the server when my computer was asleep. But minecraft was on. (the server too).
I've never experienced anything like this ever before either

It may have to due with the server being outdated there is a new build out for 1.4.6, but otherwise i have not recorded/Seen this problem and i have been playing minecraft since indev.
