Custom sky?? :(

ive been trying to get a custom sky to work for like 2 days with no progress lol. the sky keeps turning out black no matter what i do. im on 1.18.2 with optifine. is there a setting that could cause this? i dont really know how anything should be formatted. i literally just stole a folder from a different texture pack and changed the texture xD.
