DDoS
Hi,
Today I got on my server and 2 random players joined.
I was being friendly to them, Then one of them said "MAKE US BOTH OP OR WE WILL DDOS YOUR SERVER"!! So What I did was Put my server on lockdown with a plugin, (that was supposed to kick them) that did not work. Then I turned on Whitelist. But it did not work so I immediately shutdown my server. Then IP banned the both of them.
After Banning them I restarted the server.
Then I got back on the server undid the whitelist and lockdown and they were not there (:D Thank God!)
Then no one joined....... I run a server where maybe 15 or 16 people play daily because I just started, But no one joined. I have been Waiting about 4 1/2 hours now.At this time a day at least 6 people are online by now.
Could I have been DDoSed??? If I have been, How do I unDoS it?

i got on the server its not DDos but i can prvent that by happing so if somone does that again tell me or skype me at elimckinley

Just block their ip addresses in your router. Poof their gone!
it hasnt been ddosed cuz i have just joined and left so it isnt ddosed

Just don't give them any satisfaction, if they are there just to be dicks ban them straight up. Talking to them usually makes it worse, just get em out of there and hope they don't go through with it. Even if they do you will just have a bit of downtime, it's nothing too severe

A DDOS puts the server offline, if the server is online, it is not a ddos

Alright, well then you're not being DDOSed. So those punks who came on your server were just looking to rustle your jimmies. Generally when you get DDOSed on your local address your internet would get very slow/stop completely, and you wouldn't be able to do much other than browse simple web pages.
Sounds like they were bluffing to get OP.
