Hello all,
I am having problems with texture packs in minecraft. If I deleted minecraft and downloaded it again would it still have my login details and know that I have paid for it?
Thanks,

You know if you delete the icon is just to delete the shortcut? You need to go into %appdata% and delete .minecraft folder.
What I would do is make a copy of your entire .minecraft directory elsewhere on your computer before deleting it. That way, you don't have to look for specific worlds you want to save, and if it doesn't work, you have your old profiles, worlds, server data, login credintials, etc. still there.
atomick86 can you go into the chatroom please
Ok thanks all, Im just a bit unsure about this bit aswell:
I delete and then I DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN from the minecraft.net?

If you keep the launcher, you can just re-run that, and it will download all of the required files and whatnot. Otherwise, you'll just need to redownload it
i think the problem is, with the 1.6.2 launcher you use Resource packs, not texture packs. make sure the pack is a resource pack for 1.6.2 :3.
also deleting minecraft and reinstalling it will not delete your account.

Sort of, you will obviously need to know your login details, but everything else should be good!
you'll have to login but yes it would work (it will delete all your worlds but if you take them out of the saves folder and delete minecraft then open minecraft then put back into saves it should work)
