Difficulty Running Shaders

Hello, I've been having problems with shaders, whatever pack I use, even the lowest ones that are supposed to run on a toaster make my fps drop to no more than 10, problem is, I'm not using a low end computer, I play on a mac (a little old), I can play with 200 mods without any lag, I'm using 16GB RAM, I don't know what my graphic card's worth but I've read online that it wasn't too bad: AMD Radeon HD 6770M.
I have a feeling that my computer could run perfectly well with shaders but there's just something I could configure differently that's holding it back, can anybody help me or is my computer actually just not cut for it?

I'd say you should just try it with some shader. It's fairly easy and you'l find out faster and easier than just analyzing the hardware.
