Doors for Minecraft
I am wanting to try and make the Roblox game Doors for Minecraft and release it here and possibly on Realms. I would like to avoid using mods but if it is needed then a mod will work.
The mechanics and entities will be the same. Shaders may be required to help get the look I want to make. I know how to make most of it already from custom entity, item, and block models and textures and can do a lot of it myself.
The only thing I am not able to do however, is make entities behave the way I want them to, randomized generation, and if it comes down to it, I don't know how to make a mod capable of replicating the game. I know there may be some differences between the Roblox game and what I would like to make.
The entity mechanics I would need help with are listed below:
- Screech
- Halt
- Eyes
- Rush
- Timothy (The Spider)
- Dupe
- Glitch
- Hide
Other things I will need help with are:
- Random Room Generation
- Entity Spawn Chances
- Custom Models and Textures for everything.
- Custom Animations (for entities and the cutscenes)
- Flashlight
- Lighter
- Candle
- Cross
- Lockpicks (The keys will be super easy to make)
Yes, it is a lot of work and I can do quite a bit of this myself but I do not have enough knowledge or time to learn how to do the rest of this.
I cannot pay anyone but it is a possible option for a later date depending on how this project goes.

Hi there! I have made a video on a Doors idea for a game which has a stable version of a room randomization system. Basically how it works is that you step on a pressure plate which opens an iron door, that is then detected by a command block underneath which fires a dropper (With 9 random wool colors) into a chest. A system detects what wool color that is and that will clone a room in front of the player based on what color it is and the system then will reset. With this system you can also make a random system which can select when a room will go upwards and then when it should go down (To avoid player's trying to go above the height limit or below it), this system is also relatively fast & can be modified for more than 9 rooms easily. You could use custom maps for deaths (Ie: Player dies to entity and then player gets teleported to room with maps that have a message). You can also set up entities based on which room is chosen (Example: If room cloned in is dark then you could use a RNG datapack to determine if a player will experience screech). You could also use an RNG for when a player loots a drawer then randomly takes a small amount of damage from Timothy. Some entities may be too small/subtle to add into Minecraft, even with mods so you may have to stick with messages being sent to the player so they understand the mechanics and what's going on. Animations/cutscenes should be fairly easy to accomplish if you have the right person workin on it. For a flashlight, simply use a pumpkin when a player isn't using a 'flashlight' (Carrot stick) and you could implement a data pack to wear down the 'flashlight's' durability over time. Same kind of concept with a cross except if a player is holding it and an entity spawns, you could just give the player resistance and remove the item when the entity spawns. Lockpicks can just be levers/buttons that can only be placed on certain blocks in certain rooms. The real challenge may be an entity like Glitch/Eyes/Halt/Hide/etc as that isn't something you could add easily in vanilla Minecraft due to limitations and the function of those entities so you may have to get a bit creative. Hope this helps!!
Thanks! I will say that if you want to help you can. I plan on making a Minecraft server for this.
No problem! I'd be happy to help.
I'd love your help! I will say that I think there is a way to do it with the scoreboard command and execute command that would be easier but I would love to see what you made first! That sounds very complex and I am looking forward to learning.
If there is a way to contact you that is easier than here, I'd like to connect. (Unless there is a way to DM on here.)

Awesomeee. I have Discord if you'd like to contact me there (Luke_Sky_Walker#1337). Also, here is the method I used a while ago for my own Doors in Minecraft (I had stopped working on it to pursue other projects xD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaMsZ2956ls&t=366s. I explain the mechanics of the room randomizer at the time frame 6:50.
boy thats long to read
It's a complicated concept ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
