For some reason, when I go AFK fishing with my brother and he uses F3+T, my game stops updating. Pushing buttons, breaking blocks, opening doors. It doesn't work. Also, if I leave and rejoin, the whole world lags for me and I can't see anything except mobs, animals, and other players. The version I use is 1.16.2, and I'm not exactly sure why this happens.

f3+T only reloads all textures and sounds.
Can you start your server up again and see if it still lags? If not, try using f3+T again and see what happens

I've tried using F3+T after I rejoin, however all it does is fill the whole thing with note blocks, pressure plates and whatnot. If I try left clicking them, they disappear - no breaking animation, no broken animation. It just disappears. If I go below that, it turns into water.
