Forge 1.12.2 doesn’t work
I have been trying to download forge 1.12.2. I already have forge 1.7.10, and that one works fine for the most part. I didn’t have any mods downloaded. When I try to load it from the launcher, it crashes without bringing up the loading screen. It doesn’t give any crash logs either. I want to download mods but forge doesn’t work. Please help me the forge forums didn’t help at all!

We need some kind of log or error message in order to be able to help you. Could you post the "latest.txt" file in your .minecraft/logs folder here using paste.ubuntu.com?
You're trying to use the 1.7.10 version of the Rival Rebels mod in 1.12.2, which won't work. Mods can only be run on the version that they're made for. Remove Rival Rebels.
Ok so I tried deleting the mod and it Still doesn’t work
Provide the new crashlog or the newest version of your latest.log file.
Oh, I didn’t realize that. I was using it in 1.7.10 but it carries over?
No, it does not 'carry over'
A mod that was made for MC 1.7.10 will only work in MC 1.7.10. Someone would have to update the mod to 1.12.2 or later, and a quick search around shows that no one has done that as of yet.

Yeah I just deleted the mod and it still doesn’t work. You are right
