Forge, LiteLoader, MC Patcher, Shaders - what do I need?

I am a Minecraft novice and I am confused about the core mods I need. I know there are some dependencies but I am not sure what they are.

My question: What mods do I need if I want to play creative in 1.8?

So far I want to use WorldEdit (forge version) and a shader of some kind. I am not sure what core mods I need.
