Forge 1.6.4 is not working!!!
I open Minecraft, slect my Forge 1.6.4 profile and it tries to open the profile but as son as the launcher goes away , nothing happens the logo doesn't appear.

Why do people still play 1.6.4? Make sure you have the correct version of forge installed.
because there are mods for 1.6.4 that aren't for any other version
A lot of mods got killed after 164, like SimUKraft my favorite, and Traincraft another favorite. I found them together in a modpack if you don't remember these two killer mods there is a video on this page http://gamerfacetime.com/technic-modpacks/516-2/
If making sure you're using the correct version of Forge doesn't work, get the latest crash log from the minecraft directory and then upload it somewhere so we can check it out.

After the Java 1.8, Minecraft modding has been completely impossible to do.
Yescorrect it does not work but you can get it to work so its not impossible in my video i explain how to fix it and get java 7 working!!!

I have I am trying to play the same modpack that Ihascupquake uses in her enchanted oasis, so I am using Minecraft Forge 1.6.4. I am using the latest and recommended version of Forge for 1.6.4. That didn't work for me :/
People use 1.6.4 because it has a bunch of mods that have that version. There is more mods for 1.6.4
Try To Reinstall Minecraft And Java
