[1.11.2][Windows] 0 FPS w/ optifine

i've broken my minecraft with optifine. it works fine on a profile without it. i was following a video on the best settings to improve FPS. everything was going dandy, FPS was growing, until i clicked "smooth fps" to on. tanked my fps to 0, everything moving extremely slow. i finally got it to turn off after a few minutes and decided to come back to it once i've finished the rest of the settings, thought that maybe a different setting was not allowing it to work.
so, i finished the rest of the settings and i went back to try smooth FPS again. same thing happened. only this time, I CAN'T TURN IT OFF. it won't click on the button... no matter what i do. i click, and wait, i click, and wait, nothing. i uninstalled optifine and reinstalled, yet the settings stayed the same.
is there any way to turn this setting off without opening the game?

i am playing minecraft version 1.11.2 with the resource pack "Dandelion" (which i have ran before just fine) along with a 1.11.2 version of optifine, specifically OptiFine 1.11.2 HD U C2.
