Fraps and Minecraft seem to hate eachother. Please help!

Whenever i try to record my minecraft with fraps it just crashes every time. I have tried literally everything. I have installed java 7 32 bit and 64 bit (together and separately) java 6 32 bit and 64 bit (together and separately.) I have tried running java and fraps on different CPU's, i have tried different versions of fraps but it all seems to crash in full screen. The crash happens when i have tried to record in the maximised screen almost instantly after i press my record button. The button is the numpad divide which is not bound to anything else in minecraft. When i record in the non maximised window it works fine for about a minute but then all of the on screen display (achievement popups, health and hunger bar, item bar, minimap if i am in tekkit etc...) begin to flash and don't stop. Please help me with this issue as i cannot find any other recording software apart from camstasia studio which creates slight lag for the game and is expensive. Also Bandicam is incredibly slow on my computer. The specs of my computer are:
i3 ivy bridge
GTX 650 TI
16 gb RAM

I have also tried assigning java more ram but to no avail. Please help.
