So, me and my friend were derping around on his Aternos server, and he asked me if his skin was the same. I replied yes, but he sent me this screenshot of what he saw in F5. Thanks for the responses! But he did have a skin, and was jumping from 1.8 to 1.7, so it could be that.
Definitely, and I said "Usually", as in not all.
Maybe try un-applying the texture pack, then re-applying it

It happens with that texturepack, and a ton others! Usually with non-skinned players, I think it has something to do with the 1.7 skin format trying to be a 1.8 format.
