Im not sure exactly what you need help with, so ill go through a step by step guide to starting a server...

First, download the latest bukkit build.

Then download the server file from Minecraft.com

Then download these:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19036282/JonOf ... 0Files.rar
These are the "Run.bat" files.. There are 3 of them, so if you have a batch file that isn't working, or isn't compatible with your settings, one of the other two WILL work.. You don't need to download them if you don't want too..

Then go to your Desktop and right click.. Then click create new, and folder.

Name it whatever you want (I would recommend "Minecraft 1.4.6 Server")

Drag the 3 downloads into that file.

Rename "CraftBukkit_129812.jar" to just "Craftbukkit.jar"

then click the first batch file.. If it doesn't work, click the next one etc.....

Once you got your server to start, in the CMD type stop.

Then click your start button, and type CMD

Then in your command prompt type ipconfig

Find something that says "Default gateway" and write down the Ip that is next to it..

Then look for IPv4 and write down the ip address next to it..

Open up an internet browser and type in your Default Gateway into the address bar.

You will get a message to log into your router...

The username is usually going to be admin and the password is usually just password.

Then port forward.. Where it says "Server IP Address" Type in your IPv4 ip..

Where it says Starting Port, and Ending Port, type in the same port address.. I would recommend using 25560 or 25564.

When that's done go to ipchicken.com and write down your modems Ip Address..

then go back to your Minecraft Server file on your desktop.. You can close down all the other internet pages and command prompts..

Click Server Properties

Under the field "Server Port" Write what you wrote for the Ending Port.

Under the field "Server Ip" Write your IPv4 address...

and then close and SAVE your server properties..

Then in your Minecraft Server file, click the working Run.bat file.

Then the IP adress your giveing them is the one you got from Ipchicken.com
... You might also want to include the port, so it would look like this:

Ipchicken says my Ip is 12.345.678.90... and my port is 25560.. The address i will give my friends is 12.345.678.90:25560

I forgot to say after you find the run.bat file that works, just throw the other ones away..

Feel free to add me on skype if you need any more questions answered, or would rather me help you VIA screen share.
My skype name is: Andrew Panik
Good luck to you with your server

Might mean there is another server running on your wifi. Turn off all servers and leave one, unless you have another port setup for the others
And change this: server-port=25565 to server-port=

Make sure to end anything else on that port and make sure it is portforwarded.

Ok, you need to find your PUBLIC ip, not your private one. Also, only you can connect with "localhost"

This should definitely help: open start in the search type cmd press enter, type ipconfig, where is says your ipv4 address put that in the server-ip field in your config file it should like like this: server-ip:192.168.x.x. Make sure your forwarded port is 25565. Then in google type whats my public ip, a number should come up: it will look like xx.xx.xxx.xxx add a :25565 to the end then it will appear as xx.xx.xxx.xxx:25565 give this number to your friends to join. There you go this always works for me.

Do not give you friends "Localhost" unless they're on your wifi. If you've port forwarded, you'll be able to use your external IP. Check for your IP and give that to your friends.
What is my IP
