GAListener Services & Voting Question
Hello, I am setting up my GAL and I was wondering if there is there a list of service names or something that need to be used in the services for the services which you use or if you just make your own up? If you make your own up how does GAL know which services is from what voting site.
Also I am trying to set it up so that users have to vote on 5 sites in order to receive the reward. They can vote every 24 hrs but, they need to vote on all 5 websites I have linked with /vote in order to receive the voting reward. Currently I have a user say they just voted on the last one and it gave them the reward. How could I set this how so they have to make 5 votes each day, 1 on each different site
Any help is greatly appreciated.
-Thanks!

MoominShaWhen you register the server with the votifier site it will normally say the name to use in the listener notices. Usually it's just the sitename as the service name. Without the .com
First thanks for the replay. I have not come across any that really state what service name to use. One would think it is the URL with the www. or .com but there have been cases of that not working for many. Which is what I came to ask if there was a place to find a defined working list or known working service names that can be used.
MoominSha
With your forced 5 votes for it to count?
I dunno if that's cool or even possible.
It is and many sites do that. There are some that you have to hit certain votes before you can even unlock certain rewards.
MoominShaI had 7 votifier sites all worked for me
but some members complained the captchas
were not working on some sites. This is a
browser compatibility/security thing and
was common among my members.
It could end up trollface some of your
loyal voting members to just go elsewhere.
Well that is there problem not ours that they are not getting their browser updated. Nothing we can do about that. That is between the end user and the voting site. They will have that same problem regardless with server they visit if they try to vote you know?
MoominShaAlso, if I may say?
In all the world.. Forced votes are not sporting play, sir!
No one is forcing them to vote. They can certain play the game without the additional perks or they can by a ranked packed and skip having to vote. Getting users to vote and enticing them with rewards and perks is the whole purpose of it and how you grow your community and advertise your server. I don't know of any well known big name server that doesn't.

So..
As an appropriate example. <3
I had some issues getting some votifier sites
to mention where the votes came from.
Some simply refuse to mention it? :/
In that case just put in your broadcast message a
non site name "thanks for voting!" and rely on
the default vote entry to handle all unknown
vote sources. Use the lucky votes to reward all
votes as well as individual vote sites.
That way all votes from unknown sources will still
have a random reward.
Here is a lucky vote rewards paste that grants all spawner types for
1.8+ servers. .... Yes it's op but just an example. I made this to handle
the death of my spawner shop when the meta data drastically changed
from 1.7.9 to 1.8. Go ahead and add different /give commands if you want.
ALL Spawners lucky votes.

Silkspawners to allow them to pick them back up also.
Or?
Aww look, they won a booby prize... A roll of toilet paper!
Other's bathroom builds will be sooooo jelly...
They could win all kinds of cool items that have no real
value or damage to economy/legitness. Just cute!
