Hey,

I just tried the 13w41a/b/c snapshot, and it worked. Then when I tried my everyday Minecraft, my game crashed whenever I tried to get in a world/join a server. It showed at some point in the crashed launcher, that my game was missing a pack.mcmeta file; things may not work so well. Things not going well was right...
Game crashing,

delete ALL FILES THAT MINECRAFT USES then go to minecraft.net and re-download the game then it should be there if not then you might just have to get a new computer if you really want minecraft.

Good luck ~TNTpowder

Multiplayer doesn't work properly in the snapshot. Switch back to 1.6.4 to play online.

That has nothing to do with programming. It's a feature included in the 1.6 launcher. It allows you to have multiple .jar files you can switch between at any time, making it much easier to have different .jar files for different sets of mods.

EDIT: Actually, singleplayer worlds work.
